As global energy demand rises and the planet warms rapidly, we face a pressing challenge: how to meet humanity's energy needs while maintaining a sustainable and healthy planet. Solutions exist, but historically, the climate and energy, or the academic and industrial communities have too often advanced in parallel, with limited coordination to align priorities, investments, and strategies. Action is needed now, in a forum that brings together leading thinkers to drive systemic change.
We are pleased to host the 2026 Telluride Summit: Bridging the Gap Between Climate Risks and Energy Access. This invitation-only summit will convene leading scientists, industry innovators, policymakers, and communication leaders from around the world to foster direct dialogue. The goal is to identify the key actions, technologies and communication tools to implement before 2035 that best solve for (i) emissions reduction, (ii) a stable climate, and (iii) the increasing demand for affordable energy access through 2050 and beyond.
The summit is designed to challenge conventional thinking and to develop a shared vision for a future in which global energy needs are met without compromising climate stability. Outcomes will include the formation of targeted collaborative working groups, the identification of priority action areas, and the development of a milestone-driven roadmap for implementation. Following the summit, the organizing committee will work with professional communicators to produce a comprehensive synthesis report that provides actionable guidance to inform global energy and climate strategies and support decision-making at critical policy and investment frontiers.
This workshop is free and by invitation only. The normal $524 registration fee has been covered by the meeting sponsors. A continental breakfast is provided each day of the workshop along with a picnic dinner on Wednesday night.

Cancellation Policy: Once a credit card has been charged, cancelled registrations will be subject to a cancellation fee. Registration fees will be automatically processed once registration is complete. A $25 cancellation fee will be retained from a registration refund. Lodging fee payments will be processed 60 days prior to arrival, and a $100 cancellation fee will apply if cancellations occur after a lodging fee payment is completed. Telluride Science can only guarantee a refund for the remaining lodging fees if requested prior to the cancellation deadline that is specific to each lodging provider. Telluride Science recommends that participants purchase travel insurance to protect against unforeseen, last-minute travel plan changes.
