Stochastic Methods in Electronic Structure Theory

Meeting Description:

One of the most powerful methods for treating the electronic structure of complex materials is the diffusion Monte Carlo method, which makes use of stochastic methods to sample electronic positrons in coordinate space. Over the past few years, a new class of stochastic methods have appeared where the sampling is done in configuration space. The proposal workshop will bring together researchers from these two communities to discuss recent advances and challenges. We expect to have 20-30 participants.
