In the last 5 years there has been a revolution in sensing of chemicals and aerosol in the atmosphere. Low cost distributed sensors now allow widespread mapping of a city when previously it was only affordable to have a few locations. At the same time there have been dramatic changes in priorities for urban greenhouse gas control and air quality management and in the capacity of artificial intelligence and other data science tools to manage and interpret large data sets. This workshop will bring together researchers who are pushing the frontiers in use of new observational and modeling tools for the description, evaluation and process level understanding of the chemical composition of air in cities.
The meeting would include free time and informal small group discussions in the morning and have afternoon sessions.
Because of San Miguel County Health COVID restrictions around the number of people allowed per classroom, the in-person participation is limited 15 to 16 people, depending on the size of the room. However, if each participant agrees to participate virtually on one of the five workshop days, we can accommodate a total of 20 participants. The registration will close once the number of registrants reaches 20.
If you are interested in attending, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer before registering.
TSRC is about expanding the frontiers of science, exploring new ideas, and building collaborations. The workshop schedule will allow for substantial unstructured time for participants to talk and think. All participants are expected to stay for the entire duration of the workshop.
Scientists are encouraged to consider bringing family or friends. Telluride offers a number of options for children's camps (including Telluride Academy, Ah Haa School for the Arts, and Pinhead Institute). There is more information on childcare, camps, and family activities on TSRC's website at https://www.telluridescience.org/travel/families. Please contact Cindy Fusting at cindy@telluridescience.org for more information.
