Workshop Details
Organic Particles in the Atmosphere: Formation, Properties, Processing, and Impact
08/02/2010 - 08/06/2010
Meeting Description:

The Telluride Summer Research Workshops are small (fewer than 25 people) and therefore provide an opportunity for participants to meet and discuss current research in detail, stimulate new ideas, and generate collaborations. It is our hope that participants will take advantage of the informal nature of the workshop to speculate, think out loud, or otherwise air ideas that are perhaps in their infancy. The participants in this workshop will all share a combined interest in understanding organic particles and their implications for the atmosphere. The target list of topics that will be covered at the workshop include: chemical composition, mixing state, hygroscopic properties and CCN activity, optical properties, heterogeneous chemistry and processing (aging), secondary organic aerosol formation, nucleation and new particle formation, instrumentation and applications, source apportionment, laboratory, regional, and global scale modeling.
