This workshop was mainly concerned with using computational tools based on the energy landscape to analyze global properties of complex systems. In particular, the participants described results for atomic and molecular clusters, surfaces and condensed phases, addressing global thermodynamics and especially kinetics. Several talks concerned the use of geometry optimization to characterize pathways and rates for rare events.
