Due to recent advances in ultrafast optical spectroscopies, quantum processes in molecular systems, ranging from small molecules to biological systems and functional materials, are amenable to study in unprecedented detail. This opens a unique opportunity of interaction between experiment and theory, to achieve an improved understanding of nonequilibrium phenomena guided by the interplay of quantum coherence and environmental effects. Against this background, the goal of this workshop is to bring together a group of leading spectroscopists and theorists, to address state-of-the-art methodology in the study of elementary energy and charge transfer phenomena in condensed phases and spatially extended systems. Some focus will be placed upon the scope, limitations, and novel developments in (i) nonlinear optical techniques and (ii) quantum and mixed quantum-classical simulation techniques as applied to condensed-phase systems, biological chromophores and light-harvesting systems, and nanostructured materials.
If you are interested in attending a meeting, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer about availability before registering. Most TSRC meetings are very small, typically only about 25 people.
