Workshop Details
Coarse-Grained Modeling of Structure and Dynamics of Biomacromolecules
07/25/2016 - 07/29/2016
Meeting Description:

Purpose of the workshop:
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together eminent scholars with expertise in coarse-grained modeling to study the structure and dynamics of proteins, nucleic acids and other biological macromolecules. Several different aspects of coarse-grained modeling will be discussed, such as:

i) development of statistical coarse-grained potentials
ii) structure prediction based on coarse-grained modeling
iii) prediction of structural flexibility and low-frequency domain motions using normal mode analysis, elastic network models and computer simulations, and their importance for biological functions of macromolecules.

A special focus will be given to the analysis of conformational changes in biological systems using coarse-grained models and their applications to biomolecular machines. A significant emphasis will be given to the diversity at our workshop by having a good balance of gender, ethnic origin and U.S./Non-U.S. citizens among the invited speakers
