Transforming Mindsets I: Patient Safety Summer School (FACULTY REGISTRATION ONLY)
06/08/2015 - 06/11/2015
Meeting Description:

In collaboration with the upcoming Tenth Annual Telluride Patient Safety Educational Roundtable, leaders in patient safety, health science education, and patient advocacy will be offering their popular Transforming Mindsets Telluride Patient Safety Resident Physician Summer Camp at the Telluride Science Research Center. This year’s week-long resident patient safety summer camp will be held the week of June 8-11, 2015. The summer camp is supported by COPIC and MedStar Health. The Telluride Patient Safety Medical Student Summer Camp brings together leaders from patient safety, education, patient advocacy, medicine, nursing, public health, health administration, applied health, government, law and insurance with resident physicians in training to discuss, explore, and develop innovative, immersive curricula focused on open, honest and professional communication with patients and families from informed consent/shared decision-making through possible unanticipated outcomes. Bringing these stakeholders together to jointly build a comprehensive curriculum is an important first step towards widespread adoption of policies of full disclosure with the ultimate goal of improved patient safety and quality healthcare over the long-term.
