Hydrophobicity remains to be a very active, and somewhat controversial, research field despite the extensive studies from both experimental and theoretical approaches. The emerging current interest on superhydrophobic surfaces has not only introduced many industrial applications, but also led to a new conceptual widening of the term "hydrophobicity". Many recent research activities focus on nanoscale dewetting, confined water dynamics, Janus interface, surface topography effect, salt ion effect, superhydrophobic surface design, and so on. However, uncovering the underlying molecular mechanism of various complex systems still presents a major challenge and is thus the subject of many ongoing experimental and theoretical efforts. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together contributors in this multi-disciplinary field (physical chemists, biologists, material scientists, and nanotechnologists) to discuss recent advances and challenges in this exciting field.
If you are interested in attending a meeting, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer about availability before registering. Most TSRC meetings are very small, typically only about 25 people. If you have registered for a meeting you were not invited to, you may be subject to a $100 fee.
