In collaboration with the upcoming Eleventh Annual Telluride Patient Safety Educational Roundtable, leaders in patient safety, health science education, and patient advocacy will once again be offering their popular Transforming Mindsets Telluride Patient Safety Medical Student and Nursing Summer Camp at the Telluride Science Research Center. This yearâs week-long patient safety summer camp will be held July 7-10, 2016. The summer camps are fully supported by The Doctors Company Foundation (TDCF) and MedStar Health. The Telluride Patient Safety Student/Nursing Summer Camp brings together leaders from patient safety, education, patient advocacy, medicine, nursing, public health, health administration, applied health, government, law and insurance with health science students and nurses to discuss, explore, and develop innovative, immersive curricula focused on open, honest and professional communication with patients and families from informed consent/shared decision-making through possible unanticipated outcomes. Bringing these stakeholders together to jointly build a comprehensive curriculum is an important first step towards widespread adoption of policies of full disclosure with the ultimate goal of improved patient safety and quality healthcare over the long-term.
