Workshop Details
Energy and Movement in Coherent Chemical Systems
07/04/2016 - 07/08/2016
Meeting Description:

The workshop will focus on designing, monitoring, and controlling molecular motions of photomechanically responsive materials is a trans-disciplinary pursuit requiring expertise from a wide variety of researchers in synthesis, manipulation, and spectroscopy. The workshop will bring together a group of researchers to identify and understand the fundamental concepts in the creation and discovery of new complex materials that undergo macroscopic changes upon light exposure. Materials constructed using principles of supramolecular chemistry (e.g. organic crystals, MOFs, polymers) have become important in this area, with many involving the formation and/or breakage of bonds when irradiated.

Notes:

It is important to know that the only lodging provider offering discounted lodging during the 4th of July week is the Peaks Resort in Mountain Village. The good news is that the Peaks Resort has the nicest pool and mountain views in the Telluride Region. The Peak's rooms are even more affordable if you consider sharing the rooms with another TSRC scientist. Almost all of their rooms have two king beds per room.

If you are interested in attending a meeting, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer about availability before registering. Most TSRC meetings are very small, typically only about 25 people. If you have registered for a meeting you were no invited to, you may be subject to a $100 fee.
